Hybrid life cycle assessment (HLCA) strives to combine process-based (PLCA) and environmentally extended input–output (EEIO) analysis bridge gaps of both methodologies. The recent development HLCA databases constitutes a major step forward in achieving complete system coverage. Nevertheless, current applications still suffer from issues related incompleteness the inventory data gaps: (1) hybridization without endogenizing capital inputs EEIO database leads underestimations, (2) unreliability price hinders application streamlined for processes some sectors, (3) sparse coverage pollutants multiregional limits handful impact categories.
